This program shows that there is something for everyone. Rich or poor you're going to receive the same type of care.
The Assisted Living Waiver (ALW) Program is a state-funded program for lower-income seniors and people with disabilities. It is the Medi-Cal program that provides for assisted care coordination and other specified benefits provided to eligible individuals. A key goal of the project is to enable low-income seniors and persons with disabilities, who would otherwise require nursing facility services, to remain in the community or relocate to the community after receiving needed therapeutic care.
Without the program, low-income residents in most facilities had to share a room. residents on the ALW program now have the option of a private room. We provide 3 meals a day, plus 2 snacks. And our rooms have a microwave and refrigerator to provide the ability to prepare simple meals. We also provide medication management, transportation to and from doctor appointments, and daily housekeeping.
