We're blessed to have found this facility because they are doing a great job.
Hear Eric Phillip's story — a resident at Leisure Vale in Glendale who is an ex-glider pilot for the British Army. Eric says, "Call me Captain Eric" with a smile. In June of 2010, he suffered a stroke and was admitted to the hospital. But his financial resources were quickly exhausted.
Gary, his son, began researching what could be done. He then heard about a special state-funded program that enables low-income seniors and persons with disabilities, who would otherwise require nursing facility services, to receive needed care in a more independent way. It is called the Assisted Living Waiver (ALW) Program. He enrolled his dad, and now Gary says Leisure Vale has been a blessing.
